Social Democratic Youth in Finland
I joined the Youth in late autumn 2022 and became actively involved as a member a couple of years later. Even before joining, I had been thinking for a long time about my own party choice, the parties' values and promises, and their relationship to concrete actions. The fact that I was able to discuss issues that were important to me with representatives of different parties also strongly influenced my choice.
The basic idea of social democracy, which is about justice, freedom, equality, and a fairer society, spoke to me. Over its more than 100-year history, the party has also fulfilled its promises and acted as a regent.

If you want to know more and join us in events, you can become our member or be in touch with us via email or social media (Instagram: lounaissuomendemarinuoret). Membership is free.
We also have 2 local youth societies, one in Satakunta and the other in Turku.

In December 2024, at the autumn meeting of the Social Democratic Youth of Southwest Finland, I was elected as the president of the organization for the coming year. Previously, I had served on the board. The Social Democratic Youth of Southwest Finland is one of the regional organizations of the Social Democratic Youth, and our area of activity covers Satakunta and Southwest Finland.
My main priority was to promote membership growth and to recruit and activate new members. However, as the term began, the municipal and regional elections in April became the main focus, and preparations for them were also underway in the district. In my view, the young social democrats performed quite well, as our members were elected to the councils of Kaarina, Uusikaupunki, Raisio, Mynämäki, and several other municipalities. During the election campaign, we took part in campaign events, panels, and discussions, and we also organized our own election events.
After the elections, we organized, among other things, a Labour Day event in cooperation with the Left Youth. In addition, many activities are planned for the autumn.
